Gum Damar
Authentic Natural Resin Gum Damar from Asia. Gum damar is a cloudy, slightly yellow natural resin with smooth cracking, used in protective varnishes and as a medium in painting and iconography. It is of high quality and hand-selected.
Suitable for use with other resins, oils, powders, pigments, tempera, and watercolours, for creating paints as well as a raw material for making varnish. Damar is ideal for creating light, transparent, and clear varnishes. Such varnishes are used as a final coating on oil painting or tempera works. Additionally, it can be used as an additive or thinner in oil paints, increasing the drying time. When preparing varnishes or paints, high-quality turpentine oil (double-distilled) should be used for the best results.
